Coffee!!!

Ok so this is random but i just wanted to declare my love for coffee. The richness of the bold flavor that greets me every morning. i can honestly say, I am a coffeholic! Yes I said it! I will get a migraine if in fact i do not have coffee, sad but true. I truly can say I love coffee, because I drink it black no cream no sugar just the pure joy of the black coffee. Instead of getting a creamy sugary drink at Starbucks I opt for a Venti Dark Roast. I know I know I can just fix a cup at home, but I just LOVE the smell of Starbucks and the atmosphere of it. The joys of people holding their cups and laughing and having fun. Also another joy of Starbucks is their fabulous coffee cakes, especially the Very Berry coffee cake. It is very yummy. The only "sugary" drink i get there is a Mocha Light. I normally get this drink in the summer when it is hot outside. Well I do have to admit in the winter i occasionally get their Hot Chocolate. It is very yum!!!! But still my favorite drink would have to be their COFFEE!!!! So I definitely say Frapacinno next time you enter the glorious building of Starbucks get their Coffee!!!! and sit there and enjoy it!

The time has come

This is the year, the applications the test and the final collge choice. Yes the senior year of highschool has finally arrived. I am just not sure if I can take it. All through my years at the day school I alwys saw the "older kids" well now that I am the oldest it is wierd to be there. I still find myself looking for the "older kids" even though I have the privleges of the senior louge and off campus lunch. It is strange to me to b this old.
I mean just the other day it seems I was going to the day school for the first time, with sweaty hands and shaking knees I entered the MAC lobby for the back to school assembley. It was 7th grade and I was scared to no end, now that I have been here for 6 years I know my way around th school. And the nerves of the first day have now been turned into excitment! It was strange to make the memorable senior walk on the first day of school, but there I was along with my other 97 classmtes.
The joy is there, I have made it! But I am still scared as the decissions come my way. Whether it is what college will I apply to, study for theACT or where I will be next year. But whether i like it or not the time has come for me to step up and be an adult.

Weapons and kids.....good idea?

Swords are a weapon used to cause harm to others. Well, the other day I walked into the auditorium and I saw about 8 to 10 little boys with swords. Your probably wandering why they had them, well it was for Robin Hood for the Elementary play. Now not to scare you any longer, they were supervised by Mr. Strickland and two other high school boys. Now I was not allowed to stay, because I am a women.

Now I am not bashing Mr. Strickland, but I honestly do not think that kids should be given a "sword". They we not playing with actual swords, but rulers but still! I mean they could seriously hurt each other with the sticks! I mean Mr. Strickland had a good hold on everything, but still.

Anyways Mr. Strickland said it went very well. I would not know, but thats ok. Hopefully it went well, because they have another class on thursday. I have no idea what will happen, because i wont be there! But hopefully they wont kill each other!

Oh the Drama

Oh the joys of rushing 6th grade girls comming to me as they yamer on about life. All i was asking was advice, then i mentioned boys and they got very excited. They went on and on about long distant relationships and JUSTIN BEIBER! haha oh i do not miss those days. haha But it was funny to talk to them, and very intresting. The boys on the other hand, well they were not as exciting they talked about their previous girlfriends and sports. Yep. That was the depth of the conversations. But im not saying i do not like middle schoolers, but sometimes they are just to much to handle. I definitely would rather hang out with some little kid than a middle school, no offense to middle schoolers out there I love y'all and all but sometimes the drama is to much to handle.

Oh Robin Hood

With the joys of school back, comes a delightful joy to any theatre geek. The rush of nervous excitement dwelling inside of you as you see the audition dates up. This excitement happened to me this past Tuesday, but in a happy excitement. For the audition postings for the elementary play went up, and no I am not auditioning to be Maiden Mariam in the production of Robin Hood. Although 50 bright and cheery elementary children, 3rd through 5th graders, came today to audition.

I on the other hand was there for crowd control and to help Mr. Strickland stay sane. As the children swarmed into the auditorium business began, they were called up row by row and handed a number. Then skillfully Mr. Strickland handed out the scenes to the youngsters and they dispersed through the audience, and began to read their lines to each other. 50 children in the auditorium with semi freedom equals utter chaos, but in a good way.

The nerves in their tiny bodies came across in all sorts. Some were very quiet while others decided it would be an awesome idea to sit on top of the chairs, yeah that idea did not last long. For I had to be the one to tell them to get down. Their nerves went away and they had a blast on stage.

You are probably wander why on earth was I there. Simple. I adore the children and I am the stage manager. Last year I had a blast with them, as the Assistant Stage Manager during the Wizard of OZ. And it was comforting to know that some children still remembered me.

The joys of the theatre are simply amazing and it was great to see so many young ins out there today! I can not wait to see how many kids show up tomorrow for the auditions I can not wait!!!

Camp Life is the Best life

Snowball fights, paint wars, and camps songs are three of the activities I experience every summer. For the past nine summers I have enjoyed going to an amazing camp called WinShape Camps. The camp itself is owned by Chick Fil a, and was founded by Truett Cathy who created Chick Fil A. The experience has been wonderful and quite memorable. This summer was bitter sweet, because it was my last year as a camper. Next year I will miss the campfire, and the gathering of friends while we eat smores and sings songs. I will miss the beautiful hills of Rome, Ga as they are covered in fog in the morning, the baby deer that run around the camp, and the amazing teachings that the camp offers. Now your probably wandering why don't I just become a counselor, well I would but the camp does not hire right out of high school so I am stuck in an awkward middle place. I will visit of course, because over the years I have accumulated many amazing friends and mentors. Even though I will not spend two weeks of my summertime next year I will never forget the memories, the people, or the lessons I have learned from the people there. It is a postive up lifting time and I would not trade those two weeks for anything!
